Lauren House, LPCC-S, LICDC

(she, her, hers)

Sometimes, life can leave us feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck.

We’re often unsure of how to manage it, or even harder, make a change. Adjusting to the unexpected, dealing with transitions, and trying to show up for ourselves while juggling relationships, work, family and responsibilities are all things that can lead to this.

While coming to this realization is difficult, taking the next step by reaching out for help can feel like the most overwhelming task. I am here to offer you a non-judgmental, supportive, and compassionate space to build fulfillment in your life and help you achieve the growth you’ve been looking for.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in my belief that…

A genuine and meaningful connection is the necessary foundation for healing and growth. Therapy should be collaborative, and finding a good fit between client and therapist is essential.

I incorporate a strengths-based approach into my work…while relying on my extensive training in the evidenced-based practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Schema Therapy to guide me in the therapeutic process.

mindfulness interventions, and a variety of other research-based practices to help clients achieve their goals and effectively cope with life’s stressors. Based on my education, training, and clinical experience, my primary areas of focus in my work are treating:

  • depression/mood disorders

  • anxiety disorders

  • helping build motivation for change

I also rely on solution-focused techniques…

I strive to help clients identify areas of their lives that they want to improve upon, including cutting back on problematic habits, and assist in creating the structure for change. In my 10+ years as a mental health provider, I have gained experience in the university setting, crisis intervention, community mental health, and intensive outpatient treatment.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University, and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University.

Prioritizing our mental health and well-being can feel burdensome and isolating.

But you don’t have to go on this journey alone. I invite you to put yourself first, develop a deeper understanding of yourself, and learn healthier coping strategies in order to live a more meaningful life. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
